Jarvis Landry boldly predicts Dolphins will sweep Patriots this season

Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry, speaking at an NFL UK event in London on Monday, predicted his team would sweep its two games against the Patriots this season.

Miami hasn’t accomplished that feat since the 2000 season.

In a conversation the next day with MMQB, Landry suggested it was time for the Dolphins to dethrone New England as the long-time champs of the AFC East.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick has led the Patriots to division titles in 13 of the last 14 years, the outlier being 2008, when they lost Tom Brady to a season-ending injury in Week 1. The Pats have won the AFC East a record eight straight seasons.

We saw a similar special touchdown a few years ago with Nebraska’s spring game. A young fan with cancer, Jack Hoffman, scored a 69-yard touchdown in 2013. The Buckeyes players did a good job of selling Jarvis’ touchdown, by “attempting” to make tackles on him.

Jarvis was even seen recruiting for Ohio State outside of the stadium before the spring game kicked off.

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer has called Jarvis a “legit member of the NFL Jerseys China team” since 2013. After the Buckeyes’ national championship in January 2015, Jarvis got to go on the Cheap Authentic NFL Jerseys field to hoist the CFP National Championship trophy.

Kudos to the whole Ohio State team for putting together this special moment for Jarvis, which he’ll surely never forget.
